The sophisticated, exclusive & luxurious textiles I produce form a range of high-quality, hand-woven items, which combine traditional skills & techniques with contemporary designs.

I am a designer and hand weaver of luxury fabrics with many years’ experience, having completed an Honours Degree in Woven Textiles; I spend my days weaving fabrics for sale, both direct and online, working on private commissions or teaching a new generation of weavers.

I love the hands-on aspect of my work and the fact that you cannot hurry the process of weaving; there are many steps to designing and preparing to weave fabric, all of which have to be done in order, with great care, to ensure that once weaving does commence, every single thread is doing exactly what it is meant to do. The mathematical accuracy combined with the artistic possibilities of blending colour, texture and structure make every single piece of cloth I weave a unique and personal interpretation of an age-old craft which never loses its appeal.

The looms I use to create my fabrics vary greatly in size and complexity; from a small, light-weight portable loom which is ideal for teaching and demonstrating to a large, Swedish floor loom which allows me to weave wide, complex fabrics. My most recent loom purchase has a system of pegs which allow me to ‘programme’ the loom; an excellent addition which lends itself to complex patterns and structures but without the pressure of making sure I count every line correctly!
