Elaine Henderson Ceramics
Elaine will be located in Venue 4 - Carnessie
I use a range of different coloured stoneware clays with multiple glazes to make a wide range of work - the current solo exhibition in Hawick Museum features a seven-piece installation, several large, coiled pots, small domestic pots in pastel shades, some wall hangings and a botanically inspired tile cast from my own carved mould. For Ancrum I am making samples of tableware in different colours (dinner and side plates/cups and saucers/jugs/bowls) which can be bought on the day or commissioned for collection, plus a range of small flower vases, tiles and coasters. In the year since last year’s Art at Ancrum I was shortlisted for the Scottish Landscape Awards with one of my Yugen pieces, and I will be demonstrating how I make one of these on Sunday Morning during this year’s show.
